Even though the schools are away on their 10 day holiday, the work continues! The project aims to ensure these previously disadvantaged children get the maximum benefit from the intervention. Mr Ashley Cupido of Sentinel Primary made the suggestion that we should try and make the business experience as real as possible. His idea was to provide a trading facility in the Hout Bay harbour for the kids to run their businesses. We are trying to meet the Harbour Master if he has any suitable premises available. |

The Ka-Ching! Community Intervention Initiative for Hout Bay is a project that has identified a practical approach for children and their parents to develop the mindset of an entrepreneur, financial management and business skills, that will help them learn to become self-reliant. It is a multi-faceted project that will help address the educational and unemployment challenges facing this area. The intervention’s goal is to ensure the chosen group becomes self-reliant. The project is sustainable, measurable and the findings will be duplicable to other communities around South Africa.
